Protect colours in Dottie on Mac

Command-click a palette chip (or choose Protect from its context menu) to protect that colour. Protected chips show a P badge.

A protected colour is safe from accidents:

• Pixels painted with it can’t be drawn over—it acts as a mask on the canvas.
• It can’t be edited or removed from the palette.
• Gradient generation skips over it.

Command-click again to unprotect.

Tip Protect the transparent colour to preserve cut-out areas while painting freely everywhere else, or protect brand colours that must not drift.
