ROY - a block puzzle game -- STORY ROY is a block puzzle game where you have to match three or more of each colour to make the blocks disappear. This can be done in horizontal or vertical lines. If you take too much time, the blocks will fall down the screen a row at a time. Keep going for as long as you can, if the blocks reach the bottom it's game over! You may notice that sometimes the coloured blocks have the letter corresponding to their colour written on them: ROYGBIV (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet). This happens when they are in their correct column. If you complete a row with every block in their correct position you get the special ROY bonus, where every tile from that row downwards is removed - great stuff! Black blocks cannot be matched with each other, but can be destroyed by white blocks. Very handy. The cursor shows your current block and the next block. Use this to your advantage! -- GAME MODES Endless This is the most straight forward mode of play. Just keep matching blocks for as long as possible. Take into account black and white blocks and try for ROY bonuses! If you don't fire a block for a few seconds then a new line will appear on the screen and push the other lines down and the length of time you get to make a move is made shorter - so act quickly! Stage This is where you try to complete all 15 levels as fast as possible. Each level contains more blocks, and after level 8 black blocks are introduced in increasing numbers. -- CONTROLS Left - move cursor left Right - move cursor right Up - fire block Control - swap current/next block P - pause game ESC - back a menu level/quit -- OPTIONS Start the game with the "/S" command line parameter to run it in a resizable window. -- INFO by Matt Sephton, (c)2002 http://www.ewtoo.org/~matt/roy/ -- MUSIC "LED Storm" by Tim Follin (Atari version), MIDI conversion by Oedipus.
