Make selections in Dottie on Mac

A selection limits where tools can paint and marks pixels for moving, copying, or deleting. Only the active layer is selected from.

Combine selections

Hold a modifier as you start a new selection:

Show/Hide Selection hides the marching-ants outline without dropping the selection—useful when the outline obscures the pixels you’re judging.

Grow Selection and Shrink Selection expand or contract the selection by one pixel—handy for making outlines and borders or tightening a mask. Shrinking keeps any edge that runs along the canvas bounds.
